River Rocks

A couple of weeks ago we did a project that was inspired by River Rocks.  If you have ever walked along the edge of a river in North Carolina, then you know how beautiful all the pebbles and rocks are at the edge of the river.
Students painted 3-5 sheets of paper different colors and then cut out irregular/organic shapes and glued them on black paper.

8th Grade Art Work

8th Grade Art students have moved out of their Design Unit and into Printmaking.  Our first experience was printing leaves that we collected outside.  The students enjoyed this project and the results are great.

NOVEMBER

Middle School Art Student of the Month
NOVEMBER
Today 8th Grade Art Students will go outside to collect leaves for a printmaking project.  We will ink the back of the leaves and then print the leaves on colored paper.  These type of prints are called MONOTYPES.  Students will learn how to sign and number the prints too.

7th Grade Art Students are learning about Renaissance Art and have been working on a Christian Cross Mosaic.  They have two more weeks to finish the project.  I will post pictures of thier work soon.
