The Beginning of the Fourth Quarter!!!

The fourth quarter is finally here!  It is hard to believe that another school year is almost over.  The middle school students are still working very hard in art class and some seem even more inspired by the changing season.

7th Grade Art students have been busy working in clay.  We glazed and re-fired the fish and they turned out beautifully!

Below you will see more 7th Grade art work.  These are botanical paintings in watercolor and ink.  The students used Dover images/clip art as references for this painting.  I think that they did a great job and I love that they are all so different.

FEBRUARY ART STUDENT OF THE MONTH AND OIL PASTEL DRAWINGS

February Art Student of the Month

8th Grade students are working on oil pastel drawings of flowers.  We are looking forward to Spring, but until then have these to enjoy.

The finished product...

7th Grade students have been working in clay again.  They do such a good job with clay, so I wanted to give them another opportunity to work in this medium.  This time, we created clay fish.  All the fish survived the kiln, but we had one fish lose his tailfin.  Last week, we glazed them and now we are waiting to fire them.  We will post photos of the finished work in a couple of week.  Please check back!

SPIRIT WEEK 2011

SPIRIT WEEK

Spirit week at HPCA is a fun filled time when students get to use their imagination and be creative on many different levels.  Each day, there are themes and students dress up according to the theme of that day.

Through out the week we play games, have competitions, and have a parade that is followed by a closing pep rally.

These photos were taken on Friday, January 28th, a very cold morning during our parade.  The theme of the day is HPCA day or as some call it "GREEN DAY".

WHAT A WEEK!!!
